JetBlue and Air Canada Announce Flights to Tulum International Airport

Two more international airline carriers have announced flights to the Tulum Airport Joining major airline carriers such as American, Delta and United Airlines, JetBlue and Air Canada have both announced new flights to this popular Mexican Caribbean tourist destination beginning in 2024.

This modern airport was born out of the growing demand to accommodate the increasing influx of tourists to the region. It was a strategic decision by Mexican authorities to ease the pressure on the nearby Cancún International Airport, the second busiest airport in Mexico handling a staggering 26 million passengers a year.
This new international airport is poised to be the new hub for travelers visiting not only Tulum but other burgeoning tourist destinations like Bacalar, Mahahual and the Costa Maya. The new airport will also provide convenient access to colonial cities in the Yucatan such as Valladolid and important archeological sites like Chichen Itza.
Air Canada’s Flights to the Tulum Airport
Starting in the summer of 2024, Air Canada will be the first Canadian air carrier to bring flights into Mexico’s newest airport with routes from Toronto and Montreal.
The Toronto-Tulum route will begin on May 3, 2024, with flights twice weekly on Friday and Sunday. These flights are scheduled to depart Toronto at 8:15 AM, arriving in Tulum at 11:20 AM The return service will depart from Tulum at 12:30 PM and land in Toronto at 5:35 PM.
The Montreal-Tulum route will begin on May 4, 2024. The flights will leave at 8:15 AM every Saturday, arriving at the Tulum Airport at 12:00 PM. The returning flights will depart at 1:10 PM, landing in Montreal at 6:45 PM.
JetBlue Offering Flight from New York to Tulum
JetBlue has announced that they will begin flights to the Tulum Airport on June 13, 2024. JetBlue’s flights to Tulum are already available for purchase for daily nonstop service from New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK). This will be the budget airline’s fourth destination in Mexico.
The JetBlue flight will depart from JFK at 7:55 AM, arriving in Tulum at 11:15 AM. The return flight will depart Tulum at 12:45 PM, landing in New York at 5:55 PM.

All Flights to Tulum International Airport
In August 2023, Aeroméxico announced its intention to launch flights from Tulum to the United States and Canada, with connections to Toronto, Chicago and San Francisco. Tickets have not yet been made available.
Delta Air Lines will be offering passengers direct flights to and from the new Tulum airport to its hub in Atlanta, Georgia. Delta Air Lines and Aeromexico are SkyTeam alliance members and operate frequent codeshares as part of a joint venture. Delta´s first international flight is tentatively planned for March 2024.
How to Get to the Tulum International Airport
Budget airline, Spirit, has also announced daily flights from Fort Lauderdale (FLL) and Orlando (MCO) beginning March 28, 2024.
As of March 28, 2024, American Airlines will offer four daily flights to Tulum including two daily flights from Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW), one daily service from Charlotte (CLT) and one from Miami (MIA).
United Airlines has announced four routes flying from Newark (EWR), Houston (IAH) beginning in March and then Chicago (ORD) and Los Angeles (LAX) beginning in May.
