Cooking Thanksgiving dinner here on the Riviera Maya isn’t on everyone’s to-do list. Trying to find a decent turkey. Shopping for all the ingredients. Cursing yourself for not bringing Bell’s Seasoning back from the U.S.

Oh…maybe that’s just me.

Not all vacation rentals have ovens and if they do, heating up your condo for four hours can get really unpleasant in this climate. For many visitors, it just makes more sense to place an order for a catered Thanksgiving dinner.

You certainly save yourself the trouble of shopping, prepping, cooking, and trying to time everything perfectly (not to mention all the dishes) while maximizing the time you enjoy with your family.

If you are staying in an all-inclusive resort, chances are very good that they have taken the holiday into consideration for their American guests and will be serving up some sort of Thanksgiving buffet.

If you are staying in a hotel, you are going to have to search out restaurants offering up a holiday meal. But where to find them?

To help you out, we are curating a list of local businesses, including restaurants, catering companies, and private chefs, with options that can help you make takeout or dining out part of your Riviera Maya Thanksgiving tradition.

Restaurants Offering Thanksgiving Dinner

Cafe Ole in Puerto Aventuras

Cafe Ole is without a doubt the most popular place to be for Thanksgiving in Puerto Aventuras. For 29 years Gaylita, her family and staff have been welcoming guests into their restaurant like it’s their home to celebrate Thanksgiving with family and friends.

You can’t do better than this traditional Thanksgiving dinner especially when you finish it off with one of Gaylita’s world-famous homemade desserts.

The cost is 650 MXN for adults and 325 MXN for children under 12. Beverages and gratuity not included.

The Divot in Puerto Aventuras

Enjoy Thanksgiving dinner at The Divot in their elegant dining room with a view over the golf course. They are offering a four-course, traditional Thanksgiving meal for 850 MXN per person.

Lara y Luca in Puerto Aventuras

Thanksgiving Away from home? Lara y Luca has you covered!

They are offering a special Thanksgiving menu, so you can celebrate this tradition right here in paradise.

You can dine in and enjoy a warm, family-style experience in the marina-front restaurant with flavor that bring you back home or let them bring Thanksgiving to your table with their Thanksgiving to-go!

Munchy’s Sports Bar in Puerto Aventuras

Munchy’s Sports Bar will be offering a traditional Thanksgiving Dinner with oven-roasted turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, gravy, homemade cranberry sauce, fresh vegetables, dinner roll and dessert for 400 MXN per person.

Of course, you can catch all the great game-day football action on their big-screen TVs.

Seating will be at 1 PM, 3 PM, 5 PM and 7 PM. Reservations are required via messenger through the Munchy’s Facebook page or via WhatsApp 984 178 8553

La Vagabunda 38 in Playa del Carmen

La Vagabunda on Calle 38 is a very popular spot for American tourists and expats so it’s no surprise that their Thanksgiving Dinner is a big hit every year.

This traditional four-course Thanksgiving dinner is 899 MXN per person and includes a glass of wine or beer plus live entertainment with David Weber and The Crooners Show.

Dinner will be served from 5 PM until 10 PM and reservations are required via Whatsapp 984 176 3143.

The Admiral in Playa del Carmen

Because The Admiral loves us… Heath is presenting a fantastic Thanksgiving feast! Here you can enjoy at three-course turkey dinner with all the fixin’s and your choice of home-baked apple or pumpkin pie.

The cost is 850 MXN per person and includes a welcome cocktail and a glass of wine with dinner. There are three seating times offered, 1:30 PM, 4:00 PM and 7 PM so you will have plenty of time to really enjoy your meal with family and friends.

And of course, all the football games will be on for you sports fans starting at 12:30 PM.

Bistro La Brocherie in Playa del Carmen

Bistro La Brocherie, renowned for its scrumptious rotisserie chicken, escargot and moules frites also offers a delicious home-cooked, three-course Thanksgiving dinner.

While La Brocherie normally does not take reservations, you MUST reserve your seat for this annual feast via Whatsapp at 984 117 7210. The cost is 699 MXN per person.

La Brocherie is located on Avenue 15 between Calles 4 and 6 in Playa del Carmen.

Zenzi in Playa del Carmen

Zenzi Beach, known for its idyllic location and decades of great fun and service to the Playa del Carmen expat community, will be serving Thanksgiving Dinner from 6 PM until 11 PM.

The cost is 395 MXN per person and the menu looks delish!

Veinte8cho at The Reef 28 in Playa del Carmen

Veinti8ocho at The Reef 28 is presenting an interesting family-style Thanksgiving Dinner next Thursday evening. There are two seatings, 7 PM and 8 PM for up to 30 people.

The cost is 600 MXN per person and includes a glass of wine with your meal.

The Reef 28 is an adults-only hotel and you will need to inquire whether childre are welcome at this Thanksgiving event. Reservations can be made at the hotel or by calling 984 206 5150.

Manne’s Biergarten in Playa del Carmen

Manne’s Biergarten always has a traditional German turkey dinner for all their friends from the United States including turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, gravy, and fried red cabbage.

It’s a very popular place for the “Old Playa” expats to gather and celebrate Thanksgiving with Manne and Susie.

I haven’t seen this year’s announcement yet but you can follow the Facebook Group Friends Who Like Manne’s Biergarten for their post, usually just a few days before.

Manne’s is located on Calle 4 between Avenues 10 and 15.

Lol Ha Restaurant in Akumal

What could be better than Thanksgiving Dinner on the shores of the Mexican Caribbean? I don’t think I have to say more but I will.

Lol Ha Restaurant has been serving Akumal and the greater Riviera Maya community since the 1980s…that’s right. The 1980s!! There is nothing they do that isn’t delicious and that includes their annual Thanksgiving Dinner.

Dinner is offered buffet style so you are sure to get your fill. The cost is 790 MXN per adult and 450 MXN for children ages 12 and under. Dessert is extra.

Turtle Bay Cafe in Akumal

Every year, Bart and Jenn and the staff at Turtle Bay Cafe in Akumal knock Thanksgiving out of park and this year is going to be no exception. I can barely make it through the menu without my mouth watering.

The cost is 45 USD (19 USD per child) and includes a glass of red or white wine. This is a VERY popular holiday dinner and reservations are strongly recommended. You can email [email protected] or call one of the numbers listed on the flier below.

Jungle Fish Beach Club in Akumal

For a slightly less traditional Thanksgiving option, Jungle Fish Beach Club located on Jade Bay in Akumal will be offering up some delicious holiday-inspired specials all served up with a gorgeous view.

You can get the famous turkey, Jungle Fish-style with some traditional sides or go for something a little out of the ordinary.

Dinner will be served from 4 PM until 8 PM with live musical entertainment by Los Criollos from 6 PM until 8 PM. Reservations are strongly recommended for this special dinner. You can message them through the Jungle Fish Facebook page.

La Taverna Pizzeria and Risotteria in Akumal

La Taverna in Akumal is mixing it up a bit this year! Rather than a three-course dinner they are offering three specials, all a la carte. Diners looking for a delicious Thanksgiving fix can choose from a juicy, rolled, stuffed turkey breast or butternut squash stuffed tortelloni with a pumpkin cream sauce.

For dessert, you won’t be able to pass up their rich apple pound cake served with pumpkin gelato! The delicious regular menu will also be available.

The Meal Company

Chef Trina and The Meal Company keep it simple but delicious every year. There is a reason they sell out well in advance so don’t delay. Place your order for your Thanksgiving dinner via WhatsApp 984 130 9673 before Sunday, November 24.

Delivery is available in Playa del Carmen only and arrangements can be made for pick-up if you are located outside of the city.

Bloomfood

Based out of Playa del Carmen, Bloomfood has been offering their wonderful Thanksgiving feasts to happy customers for 5 years.
