  2. We were in PA20 years ago And thought it was quite Different from Cancun. What can you tell me the differences between then and now ? Could you please send me information on rentals and real estate opportunities. Thank you

    • Aside from the fact that most of the lots have been purchased and built upon, I think you might actually find that Puerto Aventuras has not changed all that very much. There are a lot more people living here full time… lot more families with children. There are also quite a few more restaurants and shops that have opened to fill the needs of the community. I think you may be surprised to find that the PA of today looks and feels very similar to the PA of 20 years ago. A master plan that worked! If you are interested in investigating the real estate options here in PA, we would be happy to refer you to an excellent, licensed agent who specializes in this market.

  4. I am so saddened by this news. The world has lost one of its kindest souls. Mick, I will miss your stories and ability to live life to the fullest. Most of all, I will miss your friendship. God speed.

  5. Mick and I practiced together for 40 years. We went to law school together as well. He was one of my dearest friends and when he went to Mexico, I lost track of him. He disappeared from so many lives in Oregon but started a new, happier life in Mexico. He was one in a million. Rest in peace my very good friend. Jim Huegli Portland Oregon

  6. It’s always exciting to witness the unique cultural celebrations around the world, and Día de los Muertos and Halloween in Puerto Aventuras is no exception. The blend of Latin American and North American traditions make this time of year particularly special in this beautiful Mexican paradise. The vibrant colors, joyful music, and delicious food all contribute to a welcoming atmosphere that brings the community together to honor and remember loved ones no longer with us. Anyone visiting Puerto Aventuras in 2023 should definitely add this celebration to their itinerary!

    • Hola, gracias por comentar. De momento es temporada muy alta, siendo Spring Break, y samana santa, por lo que hay muy pocos carritos de golf disponibles y los precios son un poco más altos.

    • Hi Mary-Ann, you should try joining the Puerto Aventuras Living facebook group. There is regular rental opportunities there, or you can ask for help in the group.

  8. Personally, everyone who is paying for their holiday should be able to have their smoke/vape in a designated area or even on their private balcony! We’re all paying to enjoy our holiday as much as the non smokers. There shouldn’t be any smoking allowed in rooms. That’s pretty gross 🤮. As a smoker, I’m respectable to wherever I stay and bring a butt up and dispose of contents in a bag or ziplock bag in the garbage safely.
I feel strongly that smoking shouldn’t be allowed in restaurants either. That’s disgusting as well. I do enjoy going to a cabana with a coffee or two in the evening away from people to enjoy my evening and smokes.
Tomato or potato…I’d go to a different vacation destination other than Mexico 🤷🏻‍♀️

  10. I really wanted to go to Cancun in 2024 and I was on the point of booking a flight from Europe. And not only Cancun, Cozumel was on the shortlist as well. But staying on the beach with a drink and no smoke ? Eating at an open restaurant or enjoying a drink at a bar and no cigarette ? No thanks. Too bad, as I have some good friends that were in Cancun and told me it’s beyond beautiful. But I’ll have to redirect my plans to some other places. I think businesses should really fight to keep their tourists (smokers or not). Ultimately, it’s the smoker’s choice. If someone wants to harm himself, who’s the government to stop him ?

  11. I guess if the Mexican government was sincere about stopping smoking they would ban the sale of cigarettes in their country.

As a smoker I personally think the law is stupid. It’s not going to make people quit. It will reduce the amount of tourism. We had our holiday booked prior to the law being changed. We did go to Mexico, but will not be returning. It isn’t really enforced yet but it still affects your vacation and where you’re willing to spend your money to go. Speaking with a lot of Mexicans, their consensus is the law is stupid as well. Perhaps the next president will repeal it.

  12. There are very few actual fotos of An Tren-Maya construction or details of completion of rail or stations of maintenance shops or operational centres.
This is troublesome as we approach the end of 2023.

  13. I love the cenotes in Riviera Maya and these near Puerto Aventuras look and sound amazing. I didn’t know how they were formed so that was really intriguing.

  14. Wow, I had no idea that there were so many cenotes! Over 7000 is incredible! Seeing that blue, teal water for myself will be incredible! Thanks for the breakdown!

  16. Oh, my gosh — how that area has been swamped with tourist infrastructure!

(And to think, within some ouf our lifetimes this was dense jungle accessible only by boat. Check out Michel Peissel’s The Lost World of Quintana Roo.)

  17. It has been a long time since our last visit to the Mexican Riviera. But I have some pretty bad memories of the airport. Great to read that the new Tulum Airport might finally be a reality. Good to have a better option than flying to Cancun. And an airport train makes a lot of sense. Might have to get to planning our next Mexican adventure.

  18. I am so excited to learn that the airport in Tulum is nearing completion! Love Mexico and have been there 27x. This airport will be so convenient to the Mayan Riviera.

  21. what an amazing and educational experience!! It’s so nice that the distillery re-opened. I had never thought about the definition of moonshine but thought it was super cool that it meant doing something forbidden at night.

  22. I had my first moonshine when we visited upstate New York. Fun to find a distillery in Mexico with the flavours of the Caribbean. And to find out more about moonshine on a great tour. I would certainly try Island Distilling Blackberry Moonshine with Sprite and a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Yummy!
